This European-style boutique hotel offers mostly suite accommodations. The lobby is decorated lavishly with gilded candelabras, antique clocks, Oriental rugs and striking statues. The vast majority of the 185 accommodations are one- and two-bedroom suites. Decorated with plush fabrics and rugs and fine reproduction antiques, rooms also have three dual-line telephones with data ports, fax, electronic shoeshine and, some, fully equipped kitchens. Some suites have balconies, all the better to view what is arguably the poshest couple of blocks on earth. The Luxury Collection is a quartet of suites on the 22nd and 23rd floors with 42” plasma TVs, balconies, and marble-tiled bathrooms with jetted-tubs. Every guest can enjoy free use of the New York Health & Racquet Club with karate kickboxing and yoga classes, as well as access to a 75-foot yacht in season. Spa treatments are also available. Ferro’s Italian restaurant serves all meals and a buffet brunch, while Nikki Midtown is a Miami-style lounge with beds, pillows, and hot dance parties. |
