 With all the modern boutiques and old-style palaces located in hotel-choked Midtown, there aren't many left like this one. There is nothing illusory about this property: classic lines and traditional luxe provide an almost old-fashioned feel to the splendid and functional behemoth. Yet it's really quite modern, from the spacious marble-floored lobby to rooms outfitted darkly for long wear and tear.
