As you walk through the front doors of this hotel, a waft of air freshener smacks you in the face. This isn’t such a bad thing, considering the traffic of Upper Broadway just outside. The friendly staff and ultra-fast check-in are notable. All of the 102 rooms are quiet, comfortable and include a large selection of cable TV channels for traveling couch potatoes. There are some modest business capabilities at the front desk and new Wi-Fi throughout. Décor is discreet and tasteful with dark wood headboards and muted colors, and rooms with two beds now have microwaves and refrigerators. There isn’t a restaurant located in the hotel, but the Key West Diner next door will deliver its hearty American fare to your room 24 hours a day. While most of the tourist action happens further south on Broadway, the renowned Symphony Space is across the street and Tom’s Diner (of Seinfeld fame) is a couple blocks north. |
