| Built in the 1970s, this property is situated on a surprisingly quiet Manhattan block. The Murray Hill location is perfect for UN associates or anyone doing business in this part of the city, and the property offers both short- and long-term rates. The staff may not be the friendliest bunch of people you’ve ever encountered, but don’t let that turn you off. All of the rooms have full kitchenettes with stoves and microwaves and are equipped with individual climate control, a true bonus during the sweltering summer months. The décor can border on tacky (think Golden Girls), but the 125 accommodations are clean, comfortable and roomy by New York standards. Despite the location in a residential neighborhood, the rooms in front are (relatively) noisier. For supreme serenity, ask for a room toward the back. |
