Formerly the St. Regis, this 15-story wonder is located in a large shopping galleria in downtown Philadelphia at Liberty Place. The colonial atmosphere is warm and inviting, as is evidenced by the roaring fireplace in the lobby. Fine artwork is on display throughout the hotel, and the floors and guest rooms have been redecorated and furnished in warm, muted colors. The hotel boasts heavenly bedding in every room, (you wont find hypoallergenic materials used here), along with large televisions and the usual suspects when it comes to amenities. Little extras such as snuggly terrycloth bathrobes, in-room Starbucks coffee and high-speed Internet access are merely icing on an already liberally frosted cake. There is a sauna and fitness room for guest use, and the Grill restaurant appeals to those wanting to stay close to home. Because of its attachment, so to speak, to the Shops at Liberty Place in the heart of Center City, the Westin offers luxury shopping and dining without every having to step outside. |
