| This hotel is surprisingly peaceful, considering that it's on a main highway linking a busy airport to a thriving city. The lobby has a sylvan feel, with its curving mahogany staircase, woodsy murals and abundance of fringy plants, and the Club Room is dark, but casually upscale, with rich wood and English hunting paintings. With its warm and customized feel, this hotel is exceptional value. Rooms are pleasantly furnished in French provincial style. The year-round, outdoor heated pool and hot tub are nicely landscaped. Meeting rooms have more character than most, with wooden chairs instead of the usual cold, steel-framed ones. The only disappointing aspect is the small and unimpressive fitness center. Keeping in mind the rates, the complimentary offerings are outstanding, including continental breakfast and evening cocktails, 24-hour fruit and coffee in the lobby, daily newspaper and an all hours' shuttle that takes guests to and from the airport. |
