This luxury hotel was designed especially for corporate business travelers and is located right next to the convention center. While it may claim that its lobby's subdued lighting and dark wood are part of a Northwest motif, it seems just plain dark. The goal is a homey, residential feel, but it's more like the entrance to a museum than a hotel. In contrast, the guestrooms are bright and spacious. As well, they have lots of great gimmicks including doorbells and Do Not Disturb lights that you can turn on before turning in. Feeling lazy in the morning? You can raise the blinds by using a switch near the bed. The bathrooms have a shower and separate bath with an angled spigot that produces a waterfall effect. High-speed Internet access is available at an additional charge. For diners, the hotel is home to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, a downtown favorite. After dinner, work off your meal in the fitness room, where every machine has its own flat-screen TV.
