| This Crowne built its local kingly reputation on its high level of service and a great location. It may not provide you with a manservant to heed your every wish, but it is rated among the top 10 Crowne Plazas for its responsiveness to guests' needs. It also helps that it's situated right off the freeway and just a four-block walk to the Convention Center (which also means great access to downtown shopping and Pike Place Market). With 415 rooms and more than 30 floors, it's too big to be called a boutique hotel. At the same time, it's not big enough to join the ranks of the hyper-hotels that cater exclusively to the convention crowd. Visiting business folk seem to love it for just these qualities. Its small lobby gives it a feeling of intimacy, and all of the rooms offer views of downtown and the surrounding area, although you may have to sit down and crane your neck at an angle if you want to see Elliott Bay. |
