 The experience begins the moment you see the château. Its colorful turrets brighten the skyline, and its massive corner-block setting dominates its historic Alamo Square neighborhood. The hotel’s grand 1892 architecture is complemented by incomparable interior touches---among the furnishings you’ll find pieces from the estates of Charles De Gaulle, J. Paul Getty and the Vanderbilts. This is a charming alternative to the typical, downtown San Francisco stay. Individually designed rooms are decorated with designer wallpaper, American Renaissance furnishings and four-poster beds. Each has been named after a luminary as notable as the décor is extravagant.
