| This hotel is at a crossroads between the prestigious Nob Hill and the more infamous Tenderloin district, so when leaving the 95-room property, guests should expect to find elements from both sides of the tracks mingling on the surrounding streets. Only a few blocks from Union Square and Chinatown, what the neighborhood may lack in ambience, it makes up for in convenience. The enormous lobby with cathedral ceilings, crystal chandeliers, towering white pillars and ornate ceilings dwarves its small, somewhat dated furniture, but still conjures the romance of a glorious grand hotel. Rooms are also unexpectedly large and offer space for a desk and small sitting area. Suites have bathrooms with whirlpool baths and bidets and a choice of a wet bar or kitchenette. All rooms are pleasantly designed with high ceilings, pale walls, and firm Victorian furniture.
