This boutique hotel brings a whimsical flair to the 1908 landmark building it inhabits. It offers an original alternative to the traditional Union Square lodgings. Guests are welcomed into an eccentrically decorated lobby with geometric drawings of M.C. Escher. Accommodations showcase contemporary design, with leopard skin-patterned carpeting, animal-print fabrics and furnishings with clean, bold lines. Themed rooms include the Renee Magritte Suite, with a cloud-painted ceiling, and several rooms designed for tall guests with longer-than-average beds. The hotel lacks a swimming pool, but the in-room hot tubs are perfect for warming up after a night out in the foggy city. A recent renovation added a cafe to the the already popular Fifth Floor restaurant. |
