| Budget lodging often means questionable accommodations in high-priced San Francisco, but this bare-bones motel defies the stereotype. The four-story, '70s-style building has a friendly staff and sits in a great location right in Chinatown. Guests are welcomed into a wood-paneled lobby where the staff doles out walking maps and helpful tips on catching the cable cars and seeing the sights. The rooms offer no surprises, with typical (and pastel) motel furnishings and décor. Suites don't seem to offer much more than the standard rooms, although some include balconies. Bonuses range from an exercise room and Finnish sauna to a guest laundry. Even better, free parking is located underneath the property. |
