101 Noodle Express Restaurant Review: Dumplings are the main attraction in this tiny luncheonette shoehorned into a mini-mall with a bowling alley at the rear. Ignore the bright lighting and lack of décor and enjoy plates of pork and shrimp dumplings lightly flecked with Chinese pumpkin, or delicate fish dumplings. Everyone orders the beef roll, which resembles a Chinese wrap sandwich, with a fried Chinese pancake encasing thin slices of beef moistened with hoisin sauce and garnished with cilantro. What the menu calls sweet and sour soup is actually one of the area's best hot and sour soups, just pungent enough to please and brimming with tofu and slivered pork. A variety of noodle dishes, from the slightly spicy dan dan noodles to eggplant cold noodle and seafood noodles, rounds out the deliciously dough-intensive menu. |
