: The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park's 2 West offers American bistro cooking from chef James Dangler. The restaurant features a two-level dining room with large windows overlooking New York Harbor, plus a bar with large-screen televisions. It's a popular spot for business lunches and after-work drinks, as well as for tourists and hotel guests. Breakfast kicks off with pastries, omelets and Belgian waffles, while on Sundays there is a brunch buffet featuring a raw bar and carving stations. Starters at lunch and dinner might include crab cakes with fennel celery slaw and aïoli, followed by main dishes like Atlantic salmon with balsamic red onions, fingerling potatoes and horseradish sauce. Grill selections, such as a roasted half chicken or New York steak, come with a choice of sauce (béarnaise, rosemary, Pinot Noir) and side (asparagus, truffle Parmesan fries, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes). The no-nonsense wine list is short and simple, representing an array of countries.
