not-particularly accessible part of Greenpoint, this
inspired American eatery is worth the trek. Anything
that comes from the grill is a palate pleaser. Hometown Bar-B-Que — Red Hook, Brooklyn New York City
is having something of a barbecue moment. And this
homegrown spot in Red Hook is leading the charge.
Come for the casual, fun atmosphere and stay for
fall-off-the-bone ribs and peppercorn-encrusted
brisket. Huertas — East Village Erstwhile
Maialino chef Jonah Miller goes from Rome to Basque
country at this stylish-but-casual East Village spot.
Sit at the bar for Basque-style tapas or head to the
back of the room for the prix-fixe menú del
día. Ivan Ramen — Lower East Side Ivan Orkin,
the "Ivan" in the restaurant's name, became something
of a celebrity in Tokyo where he lived and perfected
the art of ramen making. Now he's showing New Yorkers
how it's done at this cool new ramen spot.
