The 25 Best New York Restaurants for Fall 2014
The establishments below are presented in alphabetical order. La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels — NoLIta From the
owners of Experimental Cocktail Bar, this NoLIta wine
bar is not so experimental. It's just a solid
vino-centric spot with an emphasis on French wines.
The small plates menu includes house-made
pâtés. Monument Lane — West Village An impressive
neighborhood spot in the West Village, Monument Lane
is named for the 18th-century street that became
Greenwich Avenue. The new American fare is inspired
and worth every bite. Navy — SoHo As the name
suggests, this SoHo spot looks to the sea for
inspiration. Dark and romantic, the front room is
filled with SoHo shoppers and hipsters munching on
memorable seafood delights. Obicà Mozzarella Bar — Flatiron District The second
location in New York (and the Big Apple's flagship),
this location of Obicà is trying to transcend cheese
and serve up an array of Italian fare with plenty of
primi, secondi, and pizzas on offer. Paulaner — Lower East Side This Bowery
beerhall was nary open a year before shutting down in
2014 and reinventing itself. Now under the
supervision of the people who brought you acclaimed
Austrian restaurants Seasonal and Edi & the Wolf,
Paulaner shines in a fun and delicious way.
