THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED 3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro Restaurant Review

: This hybrid restaurant, wine shop and bar offers an innovative concept. The building looks more like a place for office workers than wine snobs, so it’s easy to miss. One side houses a stylish wine bar, while the other is home to a bistro. Straddling the two is the actual retail operation featuring bins containing 800 wines from around the world. Guests dine among polished marble, red brick and soft lighting. The menu offers the usual wine bar suspects: cheese plates, flatbreads and small plates. But there are also heavy hitters, too, such as the duck confit with white bean cassoulet and whole-grain mustard. The Kobe-style burger pairs well with a bold Cabernet and features bacon, arugula, tomato, white cheddar, caramelized onions and a subtle lemon aïoli. Truffle risotto has mascarpone, wild mushrooms and white truffle oil plus Parmesan and parsley. Of course, there’s the wine, and lots of it. Wines that might cost $60 elsewhere are nearly half the price, with only a $5 corkage fee. The 3rd Corner is open for lunch and Sunday brunch, when mimosas seem to dominate the flutes at every table.
