4 Dumplings Restaurant Review

: The narrow table-packed space offers a bright but simply decorated décor set with lime green tables. Chef Gordon Wang has a background in digestive medicine. So at his East Memphis storefront, he wanted to offer food that would be easy on the digestive tract. Thus nothing is fried at 4 Dumplings, and all entrées are free of sugar and MSG. Nevertheless, the food is far from lacking in flavor. As the name implies, there are always four types of dumplings on offer: chicken, beef, shrimp and vegan (made with tofu and vegetables). Sometimes there’s a seasonal fifth dumpling (for example, pumpkin dumplings in the fall). Also available are rice or noodle bowls with a choice of soy-ginger or peanut sauce, grilled spring rolls, and Asian-style tacos (stuffed with chicken, salmon or tofu). For dessert, try the red bean tapioca pudding. There is no alcohol served at 4 Dumplings, but the place does occasionally host dumpling-making classes when guests are allowed to bring wine.
