Striking angles and curves lead through a tiny labyrinth of earth-toned dining rooms topped with mirrored ceilings. The pièce de resistance is perhaps The 43rd's bird's-eye view of Houston. The limited menu changes weekly, with a few standards always available. We find the seafood gumbo thick and hearty, but a tad over-seasoned. The Neptune platter, with a tastier-than-average shrimp salad, adds the bonuses of Nova Scotia smoked salmon and huge boiled shrimp. Most diners, however, sample various main courses like grilled chicken Oscar, sautéed orange roughy, butterflied filet mignon and marinated pork tenderloin. The restaurant only serves lunch, but the bar is open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday for happy hour.
