| Jeffrey Fournier’s own venture in the upscale village of Newton Highlands has put him on the culinary map. His intimate neighborhood bistro offers a bright space in which to enjoy his creative dishes (think pan-seared watermelon steak with French feta). Equally satisfying are the braised Wolfe's Neck Farm short ribs with parsnip purée, watercress salad and red pepper jam. Fournier constructed the bar himself (where you can find the day’s chalkboard specials) and painted all of the abstracts that line the restaurant’s walls. A prix-fixe menu Monday through Thursday is available in either three or four courses, and wine-pairing dinners are another option. Intriguing flavors of house-made ice cream and sorbet, such as spiced rum and pear or orange-ginger, end the night on a whimsical note. |
