| The Riverside County community of Norco has a distinctly rural flavor, with horse trails outnumbering sidewalks; goats grazing in suburban backyards; and Sixth Street, one of the main drags, lined with faux Western facades. Tucked into the middle of this unique tapestry on L.A.’s urban fringe is 6th Street Deli, where modern-era cowboys armed with cell phones stop by to chat about rodeos and score a very satisfying meatball sub, Italian-style pastrami sandwich or even a plate of lasagna. It’s a casual order-at-the-counter affair with a quality and personality that distinguishes it from the dozens of fast-food chains dominating nearby Hamner Avenue. |
