800 Degrees Pizza, Los Angeles, CA

800 Degrees Pizza Restaurant Review

:
About the restaurant & décor: Chef Anthony Carron's customizable-pizza concept made its debut in Westwood in 2012 and has since expanded across Los Angeles and beyond to Las Vegas, Tokyo, Dubai and Doha. The pies are a natural fit for takeout, but the inviting setting at this Hollywood location might tempt you to dine in, either at the warm, brown leather booths and banquettes inside or on the patio with shaded tables and a bar serving beer, wine and classic cocktails.

Likes: Pizzas to satisfy whatever you're craving; rotisserie chicken is a nice addition to the menu.
Dislikes: Parking in Hollywood can be tough. (Parking at attached garage is free for one hour with validation.)

Food & Drinks: The idea is simple. Line up at the counter to build your own Neapolitan-style pizza by selecting from more than 40 toppings on display, or order from the list of classic and specialty pizzas, ranging from a simple margherita to a "BLT" topped with bacon marmalade, arugula and cherry tomatoes. The pies are then cooked for about 90 seconds in the (yes, 800-degree) oven fueled with almond wood. The Hollywood location's menu, which also includes several salads, has since expanded to include all-natural rotisserie chicken (quarter, half or whole chicken). The plate comes with two sides (fingerling potatoes, Brussels sprouts, hummus, greens or quinoa tabbouleh) and a choice of sauce. Our favorites are the homemade barbecue and Peruvian jalapeño-cilantro sauces. If you still have room, indulge in the gelato or Nutella calzone. Soft drinks come from the Coca-Cola Freestyle touch-screen soda machine with more than 100 choices. Other locations.
