| Flashy and tech-savvy, this Penn Quarter restaurant is so hip that the menus light up, an advantage when nighttime’s low lights kick in. With its logo of “sexy and sophisticated,” it’s no wonder that this dining destination has grabbed the attention of DC’s swinging set. Where to begin? Check out the starters listed under the “sharing” column for the roast duck quesadilla with its load of mozzarella and onion marmalade. If you prefer quieter flavors and possibly a more Asian kickoff, consider the Thai rolls with Thai peanut chicken, or the Japanese tuna tempura. At lunch, burger lovers will cheer the 901 bacon burger that simply oozes smoky cheddar and the subtle bite of bacon and garlic aïoli. More health-conscious is the house steak salad garnished with curried onion straws. At dinner, you can check out the sharing menu, but pay attention to the main-dish pastas, seafood combos, and meat dishes.
