A1A Ale Works Restaurant Review: These days, a city without its own brewery is virtually non-existent. St. Augustine’s A1A Ale Works, a colorful brewpub where every seat in the house has a view of Matanzas Bay, is one of the city’s most popular. Besides brewing original beers like Red Brick Ale, Black Ribbon Root Beer, and A. Strange Stout, this spot specializes in seafood and New World cuisine. With unique blends of tastes and textures from Florida, Cuba, the Caribbean and Central and South America, the menu features dishes like seafood paella. Though the entrées are tasty as well as filling, the desserts are standouts. Our number one choice is the Key lime cheesecake, though the grilled banana split is a close second. |
