THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Abajour Restaurant Review:

The first objects you notice as you approach the sophisticatedly cheery Abajour are the huge lampshades that dominate the view into the floor-to-ceiling plate glass windows. Abajour means lampshade in French, and though we can’t quite figure out why a restaurant would want to name itself after them, we like the décor in which they play a significant role. The menu is that of a contemporary bistro and simple dishes like fish and frites coexist with more ambitious offerings such as plump scallops adorned with spicy mixture of cumin, fennel and ginger. Entrées such as duck confit with red wine sauce and succulent Colorado rack of lamb work best. In essence, Abajour is nothing more than a very nice neighborhood restaurant in a very nice neighborhood where residents like to eat well. Desserts, like strawberry shortcake and rich chocolate pot de crème, are fittingly homespun.
