| Hidden in rustic Topanga Canyon and loaded with character is this local hangout, complete with a charming tree-shaded patio overlooking Topanga Creek (an ideal spot for communing with nature while consuming margaritas). The interior boasts pumpkin-hued walls with Southwestern oil paintings, colorful Mexican ceramics and a large stone fireplace. After starting with a trio of tasty empanadas, diners are faced with an extensive menu of familiar border favorites, as well as some interesting Mexico City home-style specialties. Consider, for instance, soft tacos filled with shrimp sautéed in a delicious lobster sauce, or a large chicken breast stuffed with mushrooms, cheese and spinach with a rich mushroom cream sauce. Custard-filled chimichangas dipped in chocolate make a nice finish. |
