Acme Burgerhaus Restaurant Review: Part gourmet burger shop and part roadside diner, Acme Burgerhaus is a straight-ahead burger joint that caters to a no-frills crowd, all the while touting a substantial listing of high-caliber menu options. On the basic side of things, there’s the standard hamburger or cheeseburger, both made with Niman Ranch beef, but alternate patty options include turkey, lamb, Kobe, buffalo and even ostrich. Boca burgers are also available. A short list of specialty burgers or "burger fusions" mash creative ingredient combinations into the patty, rather than slathering them on top. For instance, the spicy Chipotle Border burger features chipotle, adobo and cilantro worked into a half-pound beef patty creating not only a neater burger, but every bite is packed with flavor. Sides include garlic fries, crinkle-cut sweet potato fries, onion rings and grilled corn on the cob. In terms of atmosphere, the space is just a step up from a typical fast-food chain, though there is a community table in the middle of the restaurant that stays true to its independently owned spirit.
