Its rustic décor and unpretentious attitude would be enough to make this simple restaurant a popular neighborhood haunt. The fact that Acquario also serves lovely Mediterranean food only cinches it. Here you can share little plates of tapas---fresh grilled sardines, Spanish anchovies marinated in vinegar, grilled squid---or enjoy a three-course dinner featuring hearty pastas, Portuguese fish stew or even a good sliced sirloin steak. For dessert, try the crema Catalana, the Spanish version of crème brûlée.
