Adobo Grill Restaurant Review: This downtown hot-spot, known for its tableside preparation of chunky guacamole and salsa dancing until the wee hours on Saturday nights, puts the “festive” in Mexican cuisine. From the winding staircase to its dramatic orange, copper, metal and glass accents, the urban restaurant draws crowds to its bar and dining rooms. Expect stiff margaritas and renowned mojitos as well as such creative appetizers as cheese-stuffed empanadas potosinas and tlayuda Oaxaqueña, a dressed-up nacho with chorizo or chicken topping a crisp whole-wheat tortilla along with spinach, black bean salsa and avocado. Ceviche bar selections include tilapia, ahi, salmon and shrimp paired with such combos as chipotle ginger sauce, jícama, peppers and avocado. Before saying “adios,” seal memories of the south-of-the-border flavors with traditional tres leches with fruit or sliced mango lightly topped with mango sauce and frozen mango mousse, an especially refreshing dessert on a summer evening.
