THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Adolfo's New Mexican Kitchen Restaurant Review:

This quiet storefront in the old St. Louis neighborhood of Carondelet is the only one in town claiming to serve New Mexico-style food. Much of it seems the same as what's found in (old) Mexican restaurants---decent margaritas, a guacamole that's pale but spicy, and enchiladas, both beef and cheese. But if the server understands when an enchilada order is requested Christmas style, and the kitchen produces them with both red and green sauces, that's a good sign. The enchiladas are unremarkable, but a stuffed sopapilla, the puffy bread holding a spicy chicken filling, the red and green sauces adding savor but not overwhelming the flavor of the chicken, should make most chicken pot pies hide in shame. Very little of this food is overwhelmingly hot. Décor and food presentation are equally simple.
