THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Agostino Sciandri’s Italian ristorante, which launched in West Hollywood and attracts a celebrity clientele, made its New York debut in TriBeCa’s Greenwich Hotel. The service can be irreverent and at times snooty, which means diners hope the menu can make up for it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t. The wild boar-topped pappardelle came off as bland and the spaghetti vongole (pasta with clams) was limp and overcooked. The grilled rack of lamb was nicely aided by stewed artichokes, but the meat itself was tougher than it should have been. The room, rustic with plenty of reclaimed wood from floor to ceiling, is easy on the eyes and is a nice venue for sipping vino from the long, mostly Italian list. But ultimately, the dishes disappoint---especially at these prices.
