Akershus Restaurant Review:

This medieval castle-esque Norwegian restaurant is a Princess Storybook Character Dining hotspot, with the Disney princesses on hand for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is traditional American cuisine, but lunch and dinner both start with a traditional Norwegian koldtbord (literally, cold table) buffet followed by hot dishes delivered from the kitchen. Young Norwegians make up the waitstaff --- they're at Disney for a yearlong World Fellowship Program --- so it's fun making conversation while you nibble on meat and cheeses, shrimp and salads. Hot dishes include pan-seared salmon with spicy mustard, braised lamb, venison stew, poached cod and traditional kjottkake --- ground beef and pork meatballs with mashed potatoes, vegetables and lingonberry sauce. Grown-ups can have a Carlsberg draft beer or a fancy cocktail. The best dessert is the traditional sweet rice cream with strawberries.
