| Two for the price of one: a restaurant within a Lebanese market with its own butcher. What could be easier for the devoted gastronome than a chance to peruse an interesting ethnic market, perhaps even ordering several cuts of meat, while awaiting an order of chicken shwarma in a pita wrap. Probably because Al Nakheel is as much market as café, expect to find the unexpected, from fried lamb liver and makanek (grilled lamb sausages) to falafel and, surprisingly, a grilled rack of lamb. Sweets include the traditional baklawa as well as namoura. Considering the place, you might do well to end your repast with an eye-opening cup of Turkish coffee. |
