When the diminutive Alisa Café decided to move from gritty Upper Darby to South Jersey, longtime fans feared it would leave its charm across state lines. Not to worry. Chef-owner Tony Kanjanakorn's menu still offers refined versions of Thai specialties such as pad thai and shrimp with green curry, along with French-accented dishes including a cassoulet of escargots with spinach and mushrooms topped with Gruyère. There are also seasonal specials such as fricassée of wild mushrooms in a Marsala sauce with crab meat. The appetizers are well priced---try the sampler for two---and entrées offer good value, with most less than $20.
