This sprawling space near Madison Square Park is always bustling. The wine list is accessible, if not somewhat uninspired. It’s sectioned by taste, and whether you're looking for something bright or something bold, the selections lean French while hitting Napa and with a hint of Long Island. The menu leans French as well. A filling meal can be found in an order of escargots with an asparagus salad, a fruits de mer platter as a middle course, and steak frites for an entrée. A croques gratin should be ordered for the table, too, in the traditional monsieur format or the more interesting caramelized onion with bone marrow version. Go for any variation of the cheese fries, a decadence more easily swallowed if they are shared. Coconut panna cotta with passionfruit or cheesecake with citrus purée are light finishes to the meal.
