Almond Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review: This bistro in downtown Bridgehampton is the brainchild of friends and business partners Eric Lemonides and Jason Weiner. The two larger-than-life personalities welcome guests, watch over each detail and make everyone feel taken care of. In the kitchen, Weiner turns out the reasonably priced French-inspired fare, with an emphasis on local produce and an intriguing soupçon of Japanese influence. Start with the dock-to-dish local Montauk clam chowder or the asparagus with soy-truffle vinaigrette. Move on to entrées like the lamb neck ragù over saffron pappardelle or the upstate duck breast with dashi, ramen and shiitake mushrooms. Desserts range from richer options of sticky toffee date cake to a traditional French cheese plate and lighter ice creams and sorbets. The Meatless Monday menu offers three choices of appetizer and main as well as dessert. The succinct wine list comprises a good French selection with a few local bottles as well.
