Amaya The Indian Room Restaurant Review

: The open-concept kitchen provides patrons with a visual feast prior to their first bite. White tablecloths, marble counters, low lights and white and persimmon walls lend a clean yet cozy vibe. Thick masala-spiced cassava fries with tamarind dipping sauce and vegetable-stuffed eggplant on a bed of mustard yogurt sauce are just a few of the imaginative vegetables on offer. Meat-eaters will delight in the chile-laced short ribs with port wine reduction, which all but melt off the bone. Meanwhile, palates ignite over spot-on spicing in the coconut lobster curry. House-made desserts include garam masala truffles, and they're (surprisingly) complemented by a martini with fresh ginger, lime and muddled curry leaves. The restaurant is behind Bread Bar on Yonge Street.
