Amerigo Restaurant Review: It may not be completely authentic, but the Italian food at Amerigo is pleasing to most American palates. Standard lasagnas, spaghetti dishes, chicken Parmesan and, of course, pizza make up much of the menu. But more adventurous diners might enjoy the smoked Gouda jalapeño mac ‘n’ cheese or the chicken Acuto with black bean salsa. There’s a kids’ menu of finger foods, and a gluten-free menu is available by request. The wine list is short but somewhat impressive for a chain restaurant, and the craft beer line-up features a nice selection of brews. For dessert, try the cheesecake, which is prepared off-site at Memphis’ own The Cheesecake Corner restaurant.
