Amerigo Restaurant Review: Pastas, steaks, fish and pizza grace the menu at this casual-yet-sophisticated Northern Italian eatery. And it’s all prepared in so many variations that guests may dine here often without trying the same dish twice. Options range from the predictable five-layer lasagna and chicken Parmesan to more unusual entrées such as chicken Acuto with black bean salsa and grilled artichokes. Try the salmon and dill pizza with whipped mascarpone, mozzarella and fresh dill for something different. Though nice enough for a casual date, Amerigo also has a reputation for being kid-friendly, thanks to a special child’s menu with the usual finger food fare. There’s also a gluten-free menu available by request. The wine list is short, but somewhat impressive for a chain restaurant, and the craft beer line-up features hard-to-find brews. For dessert, try the chocolate pecan fudge brownie with pecan praline ice cream, caramel, and white chocolate sauce. |
