The Angry Olive Restaurant Review: The Angry Olive offers Italian dining that goes far beyond meatballs and spaghetti. Among the specials is Papa Joe’s antipasti Calabrese, a piled high plate of salami, ham, greens, olives and cheeses. Pappardelle Bolognese features the homemade Italian tomato sauce created from a family recipe. Eggplant caponata is the Italian version of a vegetable ratatouille, and ragoût of veal presents a Tuscan stew rich with chunks of veal and a mélange of al dente vegetables. There is also a "bambini," or children's, menu and a host of special dinners through the year to celebrate Italian holidays. Make sure to try the fresh crusty loaves of bread served with an olive tapenade spread. Jumping on the farm-to-table bandwagon that has become de rigueur at many restaurants, The Angry Olive has stepped it up by raising its own produce at a nearby farm for its dishes. When the weather permits, there is al fresco dining on a patio complete with fireplace. |
