Antica Posta Tuscan Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review:

At Antica Posta, ensconced in a former bungalow that's been expanded and enhanced a couple of times, the Betti brothers divide the duties: Marco handles management, while Alessandro wears the top toque. A soaring dramatic bar space enables guests to enjoy a comfortable upholstered banquette or small table while chatting and sampling the appealing bar menu. The toned-down atmosphere encourages and enhances private table conversation. Risotto, made to-order, comes al dente and must be patiently anticipated. Pasta dishes, available as appetizers as well as mains, are first-rate; we're especially fond of the gnocchi and the ravioli. Treatments are traditional. Rack of lamb is served pink and lightly perfumed with rosemary and sage, and the roast chicken is flavorful and tender. Check out the veal chop, too. Ice creams are house-made, and the panna cotta pairs well with its fresh berry topping. The heart of the wine list is Italian, with some name brand California choices. It would be nice, though, to have some of the American wines made from Italian grapes. However, there are a couple of wines from Italian sources in California, notably Antinori and Ferrari-Carano.
