THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Antonio's Italian Ristorante Restaurant Review:
Marble columns supporting a dome depicting the sky through recessed lighting creates a dramatic effect in this lovely room with its rich redwood décor and gorgeous open kitchen replete with marble counters and copper pots and pans hanging from the ceiling. Antonio's likes to call its fine Northern Italian cuisine a culinary voyage to the best of Old Italy, bringing to life its flavors and romance. We recommend such starters as the shrimp scampi with polenta, smoked linguica, wilted spinach and warm porcini butter, and the mushroom, tomato and seafood risotto trio. Among the array of imaginative pastas, we like the spaghetti with Maine lobster meatballs and sautéed lobster with shrimp and pork bolognaise and light lobster cream. The seared sea scallops accompanied by a terrine of porcini with basil pesto and foie gras ravioli is a masterpiece. For gourmands, there are the Tuscan osso buco with wild mushroom risotto and the Colorado lamb with its spare ribs served with compressed garlic potatoes, eggplant caviar and creamed leeks. Treat yourself to Antonio's special chocolate decadence---a warm flourless cake in a marshmallow anglaise sauce with Marsala-sautéed strawberries and vanilla ice cream, or the sublime tiramisu with raspberry and vanilla anglaise complemented by fresh berries, cream and a vanilla tuile.
