| The open kitchen in this small space gives customers a chance to get close to their dinner even before it's served. The surroundings are pleasant, done up in warm autumnal tones with corner windows looking out onto the street. The changing menu offers the best of seasonal ingredients such as Dungeness crab cakes with a marinated fennel salad or slow-braised lamb shank with rainbow chard and sun-dried tomatoes. A long list of pastas is sure to have something that will satisfy everyone. The non-pasta lover should try the oven-roasted, semi-boneless half chicken. Desserts, particularly the fruit tarts, are worth a try. The wine list is more than adequate. Since Aperto doesn't take reservations, prepare to wait for a table. Brunch is a lovely occasion on which to stop by, in part because waits tend to be shorter. |
