ARC Food & Libations Restaurant Review

: This compact venue is adorned with dark woods, black banquettes and a long bar festooned with epicurean literature. It brings a sleek-looking dining option to the relentlessly cool OC Mix retail complex. The sight lines are drawn to the open flame that dominates the visible kitchen, where executive chef Noah Blom and his culinary team put together a menu of contemporary dishes for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. The fire plays a big role in the creation of simply named entrées like calamari, beets, duck and pig, which are accented with fresh herbs, fruits, vegetables and artisanal ingredients with organic flavors, unmasked by sauces or creams. It also is involved with a few “covert” bites, like an enormous burger that may or may not be available at any given time, depending on who you ask. ARC makes up for its lack of dessert options by featuring a bar program equipped with tasty handcrafted drinks, highlighted by the smoke- and coffee bean-infused "Cigarettes and Coffee."
