Arlington House Restaurant Review:

The building was the busy Arlington Hotel in the late nineteenth century, the last stop on a ten-mile trolley line that connected with the state capitol. Chef Edward and wife Carol Murray have operated Arlington House, its present name, since 2000. The seasonal menu, revealing touches of Asia, Europe and the New World, includes such dishes as macadamia nut-encrusted braised leg and breast of duck; grilled marinated pork loin cutlets with peach and brown sugar chutney; and a gastropub section with comfort foods and specialty pizzas. Desserts include warm banana bread pudding with whipped cream and Kahlúa custard, and a wild berry stack with custard and layers of puff pastry. A $20.11 four-course prix-fixe offered Tuesday-Friday changes weekly. A good 60-label wine list is available, but tends to be pricey.
