Artisan Bistro Restaurant Review: The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common’s upscale bistro has a modern interior with sumptuous white booths and dark wood walls. Comfort food with an upscale French flair is the name of the game. Start with a dirty martini or glass of Pinot Grigio paired with lobster tacos, house-made charcuterie or tuna Niçoise with haricots verts and duck egg. Rotating flatbread flavors include everything from truffled mushroom with Gruyère and onion to prosciutto with sweet potato, ricotta and sage. Nightly specials include vegetarian dishes, a fresh catch and the popular roast of the day on Sundays. We like the juicy signature Artisan burger topped with steak sauce, maple-smoked cheddar and onion jam served with a side of crispy fries; the seared diver scallops with trumpet mushrooms; and the bouillabaisse full of lobster, scallops, shrimp, mussels and white fish in a chorizo broth. For dessert, try the Artisan sampling of crème brûlée, pistachio cherry torte, light blueberry angel food cake and espresso ganache cookie. Service is attentive.
