When Asian Delights originally opened, its menu featured Thai cuisine. But after a couple of years in business its Indian owners decided to expand the menu to include a number of their family’s specialties. These days, Asian Delights’s unique southern Indian dishes have replaced its mediocre Thai food as the reason to visit, and many selections are either vegetarian or vegan. Try the masala dosa, large rice pancakes filled with a mildly-spiced mixture of carrots, peas and potatoes. Fish-lovers owe it to themselves to check out the restaurant’s Bengali fish entrées (Bengal is known to produce India’s finest seafood dishes). Salmon, orange roughy or whitefish arrives flavored with shredded coconut, ground mustard and Indian spices. Northern Indian favorites, like tandoori chicken or lamb, are also available, as is a fine selection of Indian desserts.
