| Right in the heart of the hot Gaslamp Quarter’s hottest block, Asti is very much the place to see and be seen, which makes the act of securing a table on the sizzling sidewalk terrace as much a matter of luck and timing as of simple hunger. Asti is very much the scene to make---but the food is pretty good, too, especially the pastas, pizzas and veal dishes. When the kitchen chooses to feature the chilled veal scallops in tuna sauce called vitello tonnato on the daily specials list, Asti becomes worth a journey. |
