Bhojanic, a Decatur restaurant specializing in home-style North Indian cuisine and small plates, will open a location in Buckhead at the Shops Around Lenox in February 2013. Owner Archna Becker says this new outpost will feature a full bar, outdoor seating and a private event area. Longtime Atlanta wine enthusiasts also welcome the addition of Charles Marvil as director of operations. Marvil brings to Bhojanic a deep wine experience as well, and hopefully can develop for the two restaurants a wine list worthy of the food. While the restaurant's current wine list is several notches better than what one finds at most Indian restaurants, Marvil has the background to raise the bar substantially in the genre. The Buckhead Bhojanic will be open for lunch and dinner daily, and the Decatur location is now also open daily for lunch and dinner (but closes on Sun. at 9 p.m.). Lunch & Dinner daily. Bhojanic, 1363 Clairmont Rd., Decatur, GA 30033, 404-633-9233.

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q to Start Renovation Post-New Year
After being nearly flattened by a huge falling oak tree in August, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q has been feeding its loyal following at tables placed under a huge tent over the patio. But that will soon go away, as construction on a renovated Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q is set to begin the early part of January 2013 and last for about eight weeks. The renovated barbecue pit will bring more bar and patio space, and restore the indoor seating capacity the restaurant once had. During the construction, seating will be limited to about ten indoor tables, and the full menu will be available for dining at the restaurant and takeout orders. Catering capabilities also will be available during the renovation. At the end of the revamp, Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q will reopen its doors with a grand party. Lunch & Dinner daily. Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, 1238 DeKalb Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30307, 404-577-4030.

After protracted negotiations with the landlord failed to yield an arrangement they could accept, Leslie and Hector Santiago decided to close their popular Pura Vida Latino Tapas & Bar when the lease ran out on December 31, 2012. Loyal patrons burned up the telephone lines trying to get in one last time, according to the couple, who plan to locate a commissary kitchen and get a food truck up and running until they can find a replacement permanent location. We look forward to tango and tapas again in a new space, hopefully not too long into the new year. Meanwhile, as soon as the food truck option is operational, we'll let you know. Pura Vida Latino Tapas & Bar, 656 N. Highland Ave. NE, Atlanta, GA 30306, no phone.
Although we predict that Mr. Lee may soon find retirement a bit boring after such a busy life of cooking, the fact remains that one of Atlanta's favorite Chinese restaurateurs has hung up his wok. Lee Garden Chinese Restaurant in Alpharetta closed in December, as Mr. Lee preferred to do that rather than have his good name suffer if someone not as competent in the kitchen as he were to buy it. We will miss his cold noodles and his Peking duck most of all, not to mention his quite youthful, smiling face. Lee Garden Chinese Restaurant, Alpharetta Crossing, 11770 Haynes Bridge Rd., Alpharetta, GA 30004, no phone.
