YEAH! BURGER Raises Funds for Georgia Organics' Children's Food Program
YEAH! BURGER, with Atlanta locations on the Westside and in Virginia Highland, will host a week-long fundraiser for Georgia Organics (GO) supporting the non-profit's efforts to bring healthier foods to school children. Diners at both locations will be asked if they want to donate $1 to GO for this farm-to-school initiative. Teaching school children about healthy, fresh local food is a key mission for GO. The week is Mon., Feb. 14-Sun., Feb. 20, 2011. The restaurants are located at 1168 Howell Mill Rd. NW, 404-496-4393 and 1017 N. Highland Ave. NE, Atlanta, 404-437-7845. Lunch & Dinner daily. YEAH! 5 Seasons Sandy Springs Moniker Comes Full Circle
It's been head swimming. First 5 Seasons founder Dennis Lange removed his original unit from the fold and renamed it Lucky Devil Brewing, then in a flash reversed course and sold it to former partner and chef David Larkworthy, who promptly restored the 5 Seasons name. Larkworthy has named Wes Anderson and Kevin Burton, both former chefs with the company, as chefs de cuisine while he operates as executive chef. Larkworthy now owns all three 5 Seasons locations. Following a closing party on Dec. 30, 2010, George Tice shuttered Toulouse An American Bistro after a 16-year run. Longtime patrons enjoyed a final taste of some of the restaurant's signature dishes, with additional wines chosen by wine consultant Michael Gallant. We remember some of our favorite dishes there: country potato soup; roasted vegetables with goat cheese; lamb shank; roasted pear with ice cream. Tice won't be going anywhere, however, as he has his other restaurant, Portofino, to keep him occupied. Toulouse An American Bistro , Peachtree Walk, 2293 Peachtree Rd. NE, Ste. We enjoyed one last meal at Eurasia Bistro before it closed, and it was a winner: a soul-warming broth of oxtail and root vegetables followed by poached sea bass over crisply cooked Asian vegetables. Owner Donald Mui is still scratching his head---as are we---trying to figure out why his landlord didn't want to renew the lease. The replacement---from JCT Kitchen & Bar's Ford Fry and Floataway Café chef de cuisine Drew Belline---will be an Italian restaurant, and with those two talents, it should be one to watch. But all is not lost: Mui and his wife Wendy, the chef, have another restaurant, Northlake Thai Cuisine, offering the same style of cooking. Eurasia Bistro, 129 E.
