Aubaine Restaurant Review: The owners of this fashionable corner French brasserie have got it just right. Walk through a seductive bakery selling fresh breads and patisseries into a re-created Mediterranean dream setting. The light, bright restaurant in shabby-chic Provençal style has doors that open out onto the street. Traditional dishes make for a satisfying menu: salade niçoise, grilled sea bass and fennel, gigot d'agneau, followed by good desserts. The cooking is not going to set the world alight, but it keeps the well-heeled, well-dressed customers happy. Prices are high --- this is South Kensington and all that lavender is expensive. Service is friendly. Other locations.
